St. Mark FOCA

St. Mark FOCA is an official organization of the Orthodox Church in America.  St. Mark FOCA is Chapter #229 in the Colonial District.  Our mission is to proclaim, share, and reveal our Orthodox faith through service, fellowship, and example.  St. Mark FOCA provides educational, cultural, social, and athletic activities for Orthodox Christians.  FOCA typically meets the 3rd Saturday of each month at 6:15 pm.  For specific dates and meeting times, please refer to the church calendar. Go to the St. Mark Monthly Calendar.  Prospective members must be at least 18 years old.  Dues are $40 per year ($30 national, $5 district, $5 St. Mark FOCA) and include a subscription to the Orthodox Christian Journal.

Upcoming / Recent St. Mark FOCA Events

  • 02/10/2013- FOCA "Gifts of Love" Collection
    • At the 2013 NATIONAL FOCA Convention in Myrtle Beach, it was decided that the "Gifts of Love" for 2013 would be earmarked to benefit Zoe For Life!.  ZOE is a non-profit Christ-centered support organization with three major goals: to help women in crisis pregnancy, to assist Orthodox Christian couples seeking to adopt, and to create an Orthodox Christian abstinence program to educate young people.  Please visit their website:  zoeforlifeonline.org.
    • St. Mark held a special collection on 2/10/13 to benefit ZOE, with collections totalling $652.  St. Mark's FOCA chapter donated an additional $348 to the special collected funds, bringing the proceed total to $1000 towards ZOE.
  • 02/11/2012- 2nd Annual FOCA Chili Cook-Off
  • 10/01/2011- Family Fish Fry with Fr. Maximus "A Fisher of Men"
    • The event opened with a rousing vocal performance by the "Bluebells".  Food was then served and Fr. Maximus taught us how he brings people to Orthodoxy as well as stories from his evangelical travels.  Thanks to Fr. Maximus and FOCA for making this event a success!

St. Mark Jr. FOCA

In January 2008, the St. Mark Junior FOCA was chartered as Chapter #229 J.  St. Mark Senior FOCA supports the Junior FOCA financially.  St. Mark Junior FOCA discusses issues that affect teenagers and unites the teenagers spiritually and socially through service and fellowship.
