Choir

The mission of the St. Mark choir is to lead the singing of responses and hymns in the church services.  The choir always sings without the accompaniment of any musical instruments, as is the ancient Orthodox tradition, in that the human voice raised in song is the highest form of expression and communication.  St. Mark choir is blessed to have multiple directors, rotated on a weekly basis: Justin Barber, Christina Berencz, Sarah & David Hardy, John Sokich, and Wayne Tatusko.  The choir practices regularly to provide music at Vespers, Liturgies, weddings, baptisms, and memorial services, as well as performing occasionally in community-wide concerts. Volunteers should have a basic knowledge of music, with vocal training a plus.  The ministry requires dedication to and a love of singing.  Anyone interested in joining the choir please contact a director.  For rehearsal dates and times either contact a director or e-mail Christina Berencz.

Children’s Choir

Christina and Ellen Barber lead the children’s choir.  Practice times are noted in the bulletin and are usually held at 9:00 am prior to Divine Liturgy on Sundays.  Parents of interested children should contact Christina.
